Engineering Manager

Our client is a world-leading developer and provider of ergonomic assistive devices and patient handling equipment. Company’s ambition is to provide solutions that optimise quality of life for the individual, family members and caregivers.  

Since 2019 company is developing production site in Tczew, and is planning to expand Polish operations in the coming years.  

Short and mid-term challenges and goals:

  • People Management – better organization of the teamwork, support the team in clarifying priorities and building efficient monitoring tools and practices to make sure that engineering team’s work is efficient and under control 
  • Production transfers – make sure that all transfers of the production process for new products, from sites in other countries to Poland, are secured from production engineering, production capabilities and documentation 
  • International cooperation – represent local site in contacts with other entities of the Group, in technology scope. Make sure that communication flow between international teams and local engineers is working efficiently 
  • New investments and facility management – project management for the PV project and taking part in the feasibility study for the brownfield investment. Make sure that all the facilities are provided for the continuous production development 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as engineering leader and technical expert 
  • Lead and supervise an engineering team to develop, test, modify, and create solutions to technical problems 
  • Plan and direct all aspects of engineering activities within the organization 
  • Design, implement & optimize layout of the site 
  • Develop, implement & monitor production processes documentation 
  • Be a leader of change management process regarding new products, procedures and standards 
  • Be a leader of NPI process within Organization 
  • Lead and coordinate Maintenance activities within Organization (production facility and manufacturing equipment) 
  • Lead transfer of processes, products and technology from the other sites 
  • Ensure application of engineering standards and procedures to support production processes 
  • Assign, train, develop and supervise work of engineering department 
  • Work closely with Quality & Production Department to ensure products’ conformity 
  • Investigate new materials and processes to create a space for product cost improvement 
  • Drive corrective actions in related area of responsibility 
  • Provide input and technical advice to strategic projects and business cases 
  • Work with the Company’s health, safety and environment rules & policies 

Candidate profile:

  • 5 years of experience in relevant position 
  • Process and products re-location experience 
  • Layout design and optimization practical experience 
  • Analytical and mathematical mind with capability to evaluate and solve complex problems 
  • NPI process knowledge, skills and experience 
  • Lean production philosophy practical knowledge and skills 
  • Metal fabrication and product assembly knowledge and experience 
  • International company work environment experience 
  • Organizational competencies and project management skills 
  • Self-motivated attitude with ability to multitask and act in a timeline driven environment 
  • English – advanced 
  • ERP systems & MS Office package knowledge 
  • Bachelor degree – technical
