SSC Leader / Finance Manager

Location: 60 km from Krakow

Our Client is a global manufacturing company that will be opening its Share Services Centre in Malopolskie voivodship – in neighborhood to Cracow and Katowice (c.a. 1 hr drive). The Centre will operate financial processes (AP, AR, GL) for all subsidiaries located in Europe. Currently we’re supporting our Client in recruiting Finance SSC Leader.

Key responsibilities:

As Finance SSC Leader you will be responsible for the initial design, implementation, and ongoing operation of the Financial Shared Services Centre. You will ensure a seamless move of the Finance function from the local organizations to a scalable, efficient service center. The definition of performance KPIs will also be part of his/her role, as well as the proposal of efficiency improvement measures, while fully delivering per the Service Level Agreements. You will also define SSC organization and internal processes, leading and motivating a team of 30+ people.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To take active part in the recruitment process of the SSC Team members.
  • To be a part of the Core SSC Project Team, participating in all the key decisions around the project design and implementation.
  • To draw up the internal SOP’s for the SSC.
  • To prepare a standard framework for the SLA’s.
  • To propose actions for further performance and efficiency improvements of the SSC.
  • To develop the key metrics to measure the accomplishment of the SLA’s and the continuous improvement of the SSC efficiency.
  • To ensure a proper handover from each country during the implementation:
    • Actively find a solution for the activities not to be transferred to the SSC, in cooperation with local Management (i.e. payroll, tax and stat accounts filings, etc.)
    • Ensure the local requirements related to documentation archiving are met.
    • Ensure the information is provided timely to the different stakeholders (internal and external) per the SLA.
    • Participate in the development of the SLA.
  • Oversee and motivate a team of 30+ people.

Your profile:

  • Proven experience in the successful implementation of an Accounting/Financial SSC
  • Bachelor in BA, Finance or similar, strong Accounting skills (CPA or similar will be an asset).
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in Finance and Accounting (preferably within industrial or FMCG companies) with at least 5 in managerial roles (Finance Controller, Finance Manager, Chief Accountant etc.) leading teams of at least 5 people.
  • Fluent in English (other languages spoken in the EU will be considered an asset)
  • Advanced user of any Major ERP and usual IT tools within an SSC environment.
  • Ability to liaise with and influence different stakeholders across the organization, including the Senior Management.
  • Leadership and motivational skills
  • Capacity to work under pressure and manage uncertainty.
  • Hands-on, self-starter.
